What causes Excess Wind?
The most simple cause is not chewing your food properly and eating too quickly. If large chunks of foods go through the system they can give off gas therefore causing bloating and resulting in excess wind (it has to go somewhere !)
If you are chatty person maybe you are swallowing air whilst you eat.
Fizzy drinks, chewing gum between meals can all contribute to the problem.
Constipation doesn’t help because the fermentation process is longer see our link to Bowel Health.
Foods such as some pulses and beans - kidney beans, the cabbage family especially sprouts have a reputation for causing wind at both ends.
You may have an intolerance to some foods so consider keeping a food diary to find the culprits.
